Spirituality in leadership

Leadership is about caring, going beyond body and mind. Each of us has just one responsibility ‘To Care’. When we were kids we were taken care of by our parents, when we grew up as adults we take care of our parents and our kids and this goes on and on. Leadership is no exception. In the end, it’s about caring.

If we are to be the kind of leaders we ought to be, we must make it our aim to develop people rather than dictate plans. You can get people to do what you want, but if they don’t change in their hearts, you have not led them rightly/spiritually. The impact is missing though goals are met.

It is rightly said A leader knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way. A leader organizes and directs situations towards the goal but if they don’t have mastery over themselves, they will struggle. We all struggle in certain situations because we don’t have mastery over our inner nature and are not free from outside situations.

A person who controls their inner nature well goes on to become a great caretaker/Leader. Such great leaders built a company and culture that is unlike any other in the world.

Spiritual leaders along with other great qualities are also tactful. Their choice of words is astute rather than clumsy. (“There is a big difference between saying, ‘Your foot is too big for this shoe” and ‘This shoe is too small for your foot.’”)

This is something we must make use of. We as a generation of people have the opportunity to move a large mass of people from one level of living to another. No other land has seen as much work toward human consciousness as this Indian culture has.
